I met my husband about six years ago and through my relationship with him, I learned how to love myself. It’s amazing when you finally feel unconditional love. It gave me the strength to be the best I can be.
Previously, I was in a physically abusive relationship, and survived sexual assault. As one might expect, I had residual emotional anguish from those events, and I had to seek therapy in order to repair the emotional damage. Once I started feeling happy and emotionally empowered again, I realized being overweight on the outside, didn’t match the way I was feeling on the inside. I decided it was time for a change. With the incredible support of my husband, I began working out, running and weight lifting. Unfortunately, with no real guidance, I was not seeing results. Then I found Chris Freytag on Exercise TV. The first workout I tried was her Xtreme Kickboxing, and Chris’s “Yes You Can!” motto was exactly what I needed to hear.
I love using the DVD because it’s totally on my schedule. When I’m willing to try new moves, or to take it to that next level, I can do so without having to worry about judgment from others. Chris has changed my mindset to always go “Xtreme” no matter what workout I am doing, and I don’t mess around!
After Exercise TV ended, I purchased Chris’s 10lb. Slimdown Xtreme. It’s rare to feel truly excited about workout out, but Chris is so personable and encouraging you feel like you are working out with a positive and motivating good friend! Xtreme kickboxing is my favorite! I also love Xtreme Yoga as well because Chris respects the integrity of yoga. The circuits really maximize calorie burning build strength. Chris really encourages safety, form and progress without you feeling like a failure if you can’t go Xtreme right away.
I saw results within the first week. I was able to go harder within the first couple of weeks and could feel myself getting stronger. It is an amazing journey, and by switching up the rotation, I STILL see results!

I learned proper nutrition and how important it is to stop eating processed food from Chris’s accompanying Clean Eating Guide. I NOW would rather eat a handful of raw almonds and an apple for a snack than processed food. I also learned it’s not always quantity (which is important) but the quality of what you’re eating that will help you succeed.
Nothing in this world gives me more solace than waking up in the morning and knowing I am emotionally and physically strong. My husband and I enjoy a healthy and active marriage. I can never thank Chris enough for the strength I now possess. My confidence is through the roof, and I feel like I could conquer anything thrown my way.
