Success Story Laura-Jane Barber from Texas wrote:
“Growing up, I was very active. I was a competitive figure skater for 10 years and got into running. But college brought on the freshman 30 and working out became something I pretty much avoided. I graduated. I got married. I became a high school Spanish teacher, had two children, and you know the story…
I had a gym membership, but I went (maybe) 20 times in two years. I needed something I could do around the house that wasn’t boring. I discovered some of Jillian Michaels’ workouts and found out I actually liked circuit training! But I wasn’t as consistent as I wished to be, and as the New Year (2011) approached, I was disappointed and wanted to recommit myself to a fit lifestyle.
I decided 2011 was my year. I created my own challenge: 100 workouts in 2011. Considering how many days there are in a year, I decided 100 workouts was a very realistic goal that I could complete if I was diligent. I started out fully motivated (just like we all do every January) but I got bored with my usual workout DVDs and started investigating new workouts. Enter Chris Freytag…I found her 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme system and was totally hooked.
In November, I still had 32 workouts to go. For about five minutes I considered throwing in the towel and starting over next year, but I was tired of allowing myself to give up on me. I recommitted myself to my goal and made a plan. I decided to do some two-a-day workouts and bravely added the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme Yoga workout. (I have never been a yoga person). I fell in love with yoga because of this workout. On December 23, 2011, I completed my 100th workout and felt amazing!
If I can you do it, you can do it too. I lost 25 pounds, but more importantly, five dress sizes and reshaped my body. I was patient but consistent. The 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme is a circuit program including kickboxing and yoga and TONS of variety. I love that Chris’s workouts are easy to follow. But don’t be fooled, they are TOUGH and really work you hard. As a working mom, I don’t have a lot of free time and I get bored easily, but the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme always seems to fly by so quickly. Chris’s instruction and options keeps my joints from revolting half way through. I also love her positive encouragement. Just when I start to feel that maybe I look silly or that I can’t go on, Chris will say something inspiring that makes me push myself just a bit longer.
The big “ah-ha moment” for me was yoga. I love the 10-pound Slimdown Xtreme Yoga workouts! I avoided yoga like the plague because my body is horribly inflexible. I cannot sit upright with my legs straight in front of me and don’t even mention touching my toes. One night, I decided to give it a try and LOVED it. It was hard, but I was intrigued. I already loved Chris’s workouts but this one changed my whole perspective. As it turns out, you don’t have to be perfectly flexible to do yoga. I now do 10-pound Slimdown yoga multiple times a week! Every time I do it I am surprised at how soon it’s over. I’ve only been doing it for about a month and I can already feel the difference in my flexibility.
I have tried lots of other instructor’s workouts. Most trainers have not made me want to try more of their workouts; but Chris did. I love how encouraging she is and how fun her workouts are. I now feel like I’m set up to succeed and not fail no matter what level of fitness I’m at. Her workouts are definitely challenging and give you the good soreness that lets you know you had a good workout in a short period of time. If you need to lose weight and want workouts with variety, challenge, good instruction, and entertainment—you should try the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme.
What’s next? I’m upping the ante in 2012. I am aiming for 150 workouts and plan to incorporate more yoga to improve my flexibility. Thanks Chris for making a difference in my life.”
