In August 2010, my husband and I booked a trip to Walt Disney World, where we honeymooned in 2009, so we could take our blended family of three kids there. Looking at the pictures from our honeymoon, I hated the way I looked in every picture. I couldn’t stand it anymore. It was past time to do something about it.
I started eating right and was lucky that the pounds were melting off without any exercise and I went down several sizes from a size 20. By January of 2011, I knew I needed to add exercise. I was becoming slimmer, but I still got winded walking up a flight of stairs.
A friend told me about Exercise TV last summer, and that’s when I found Chris Freytag and her 10 Pound Slimdown workouts. I was instantly hooked—and SORE! The workouts challenged my muscles in new ways.
I love Chris’s workouts because she does every move of every workout with us. It is motivating to see her sweating and increase her breathing along with me. I also love how Chris is so encouraging and positive during the workouts. She makes you feel like You Can Do It!
I really liked the results I was seeing. Not only did I drop from a size 12 to a size 8, I also noticed a big difference in my arms. You know that flabby, flappy underside of the arm we all hate? Mine was finally starting to go away! It wasn’t until this February when I put the Xtreme to the real test by joining Chris’ Xtreme Challenge Facebook group where we followed her 28-day workout plan together. I lost 3.5 inches during the challenge!
I love the 40-minute Total Body Workout but I also love her Cardio Kickboxing. It really is just “stinkin’ fun” as Chris says!
I love the variety of moves that come with all the Xtreme workouts. Chris’ instructions are easy to follow.The moves are challenging, but you also can easily tailor them to your ability level by adjusting your weights or using the modifications Chris provides. You can continue to build on these workouts by increasing your weights and opting for the more challenging moves during the power drills. I also love how the workouts are packaged together into a four-week plan to follow that hits all areas of the body.
I truly feel like I gained everything by losing weight. I gained energy and confidence. My moods and outlook on life improved. I learned to love being active. I was brave enough to get out of my shy comfort zone and ran four 5K races in 2011 and achieved my personal goal of finishing in less than 30 minutes. I’ve learned that the most important person in my life I have to take care of is me!
