11 Spring Must-Haves For Fitness Enthusiasts

Fitness: Get Fit

By: // April 22, 2014

Spring has sprung, and swimsuit season is already on everyone’s minds. To help you stay active, be healthy, and get those muscles popping just like the tulips, I’ve rounded up my favorite spring fitness must-haves!

Athleta Headband

There’s nothing like updating your workout wardrobe to reflect the warmer weather! These headbands stay put and keep your fly-aways out of your face while you work up a sweat outside (or at the gym!). I LOVE these Athleta Spacedye Vital Headbands. I love this pink color, but it is available in more designs and colors, too!

These hair ties are not only adorable and affordable, they’re also awesome for your hair! They minimize breakage and hold your hair totally in place.

Fun & Functional Sports Bras

I absolutely love Athleta, and their Spring line of products are so adorable! Their sports bras are super fun prints and super supportive, so you can look great while you work hard! Check out the Tropical Triple Dare bra or the Havana Stripe Fully Focused bra!

MDSolar Sciences Mineral Stick SPF 40

When you’re shifting to outdoor workouts and generally spending more time outside as the weather heats up, sunscreen is SO important! Your skin is your largest organ, and sunscreen is vital to its health. This MDSolar Sciences Mineral Stick (I prefer SPF 40) is the BEST sunscreen for when you’re working up a sweat outside. This lightweight formula is water resistant and gives you coverage for 80 minutes!

Fruit Infusion Pitcher

No offense water, but drinking eight glasses of you a day can be a little boring! I love mixing up my H2O routine by making fruit infused water, and this pitcher from Target makes it super easy to do! (I bought mine last year and it’s still a staple in my fridge!) You just put whatever fruit and herbs you’d like in the tube (strawberry mint is my fav!), fill the pitcher with water, and pop in the fridge. The fruit doesn’t float around and the water takes on the delicious flavor. No artificial flavors, colors, or calories to worry about!

‘Windrunner’ Hooded Windbreaker

Goodbye, treadmill. We can finally run outside again! But on spring days that are still a bit nippy, I like to wear a lightweight jacket over a tank to keep the heat in. Besides being super cute, the Nike Windrunner is made of moisture wicking fabric and will keep you nice and warm but won’t make you overheat! Maybe I need both colors…

SPIbelt Foil

We are women with stuff. Lots of stuff. And we need some place to put it! Enter the SPIbelt. If you’re out on a walk or jog, the SPIbelt will expand to hold a smart phone, keys, cash, credit cards, and even a passport (although that would be a very long run!). I usually wear my black one, but the belt comes in everything from camo to polka dots to foil. I met the inventor, Kim Overton, about 5 years ago and she gave me one.  I’ve been a fan ever since!

Birkenstocks have made a total comeback recently, and we’re all about them! Not only are they comfortable and coming in a range of adorable styles now, but they also offer amazing foot support that will keep your feet happy all day long! Try this adorable pair!

A Stylish Swell Water Bottle

I can’t say it enough: STAY HYDRATED! Drinking enough water is the easiest, cheapest, most effective piece of advice I can give you. I adore these Swell water bottles–they keep your drink cold for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours, and come in a range of adorable colors and sizes. Get one for yourself!

Workout Shorts

The Athleta Ready to Go Shorts are one of my favorites. As I’ve already mentioned, Spring outdoor workouts are a great perk of the changing season, and these shorts will have you looking stylish and feeling great during your next outdoor exercise session!

I have a question on the pitcher. When you put strawberries or something with seeds do they get out into the water? I have two kids with Crohn's Disease who cannot injest seeds. I've seen these pitchers and waterbottles and want to get one badly, but only if no seeds escape. Thank you!

Hmmm - well the holes are small - I haven't had a problem .. but I suppose a seed could come through if it were a small one - most seeds are bigger ... but strawberries and raspberries have really little ones... You could use fruit with big seeds and de-seed them first - I'm thinking lemons, limes, cucumbers, oranges and grapefruit....

Hi Chris! Yes, Kim has a nice product in Spibelt and it's a good thing :) If you want another idea to hands-free carry your essentials, perhaps PortaPocket can help ... my patented system can also be used after your run to go to a dance, a festival or even to the office. Morphs into many things depending what your needs are. It's detachable, interchangeable and easy to use. Super comfy & sweat resistant too. Works almost anywhere on your body (thigh, calf, ankle, arm, wrist, or waist / hip) and either under or over your outfit. Sparkly or plain to suit your mood. see what I mean at www.portapocket.com Cheers! xox
