Recipe: Fish Tacos with Cabbage Slaw, Mango, and Avocado

My family is big into tacos.  Fish tacos are a particular favorite for my boys.  These tacos are so colorful and delicious, plus super easy to make.  The spicy chili-lime tilapia, crunchy sour cream cabbage slaw, along with sweet mango and avocado give these tacos loads of flavor.  I serve mine on corn tortillas, but you can also use flour or low-carb ones.



  • 1 pound tilapia
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 cups shredded red or napa cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup low fat sour cream
  • 1 mango
  • 1 avocado
  • 8 small corn tortillas

I have never tried fish tacos yet. But now I'm a vegeterian and have to get used to it because I love Mexican food so much.
