Add a dash of exotic to your next barbecue and try this Moroccan lamb burger recipe. These lamb burgers are seasoned with tasty turmeric and cumin, so they have a rich tasty flavor that really pops. The yogurt mint sauce is refreshing and light, so it pairs well with the Moroccan-inspired lamb. This recipe can easily be made gluten-free if you choose gluten-free buns and use Greek yogurt. These burgers were a hit at our house and only took 25 minutes to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb organic ground lamb
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely minced (I pulse mine in the food processor several times)
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 5 gluten-free hamburger buns (I like Udi's)
  • Yogurt Sauce
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
