Recipe: Deep Dish Sloppy Joe Casserole

Sloppy joes are a family favorite in my household.  My kids used to go crazy for this stuff when they were little.  Well, some things never change, and still to this day my boys love a good sloppy joe.  This recipe merges deep dish pizza with sloppy joe flavor, and creates a casserole that is worth going crazy for!  It’s a borderline genius combination.  I would even venture to say it’s the ultimate comfort food casserole (AND it’s healthy!)

Ingredients

• 1 lb 95% lean ground beef
• 1 tablespoon McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning
• 8 oz white mushrooms, minced
• 1 medium carrot, minced
• 1 medium onion, minced
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
• 15 oz can of tomato sauce
• 2 tablespoons tomato paste
• 1 can pizza crust dough
• 1 cup shredded 2% Mozzarella cheese
