    Ingredients You’ll Need

    • White Wine: choose a middle shelf crisp white wine that isn’t overly sweet. We like to use pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc for sangria. You could even experiment with a sparkling wine if you like a bubbly sangria.
    • Orange Liqueur: you’ll need an orange liqueur (like Cointreau, grand marnier, or triple sec) for this white wine sangria recipe, but you can also use other fruit based liqueurs like a peach or apricot one. For a less boozy sangria, you could use orange juice instead.
    • Mango Nectar: tropical fruit is delicious when paired with the white wine in this sangria. To highlight the mango flavor and add a little sweetness, we used mango nectar. Since it helps sweeten this sangria, you don’t need to add simple syrup like a lot of recipes.
    • Strawberries & Mango: we love this delicious and colorful combination of fruit in white wine sangria. We used fresh fruit but you can use frozen in a pinch.
    • Fresh Citrus: add some sliced citrus fruits like lime and lemon to your sangria as well; the tartness balances out the sweetness from the mango and strawberry.

    Variations

    • Strawberry & Peach Sangria: add 1-2 sliced fresh peaches instead of mango and use white grape juice instead of mango nectar. You could also swap out the orange liqueur for a peach schnapps in this variation.
    • Berry Sangria: add 2 ½ cups worth of berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) to the pitcher instead of mango when making this sangria. Use white grape juice instead of mango nectar.
    • Stone Fruit Sangria: add 2 ½ cups of sliced peaches, plums, or apricots to this sangria variation.  Use white grape juice instead of mango nectar. You could also swap the orange liqueur for an apricot brandy in this version.

How to Make White Wine Sangria

tall pitcher layered partially filled with sliced fresh fruit with a bottle of white wine being poured into it from the top.
    • Chop Your Fruit: prep your fruit for the sangria by washing everything well. Chop strawberries and mango into bite size pieces and thinly slice the citrus. Add to a large pitcher. (We love this sangria pitcher and glasses set!)
    • Combine Fruit and Wine: add the bottle of white wine, mango juice, and orange liqueur to the pitcher with the fruit. Store the sangria mixture in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours or overnight so that the fruit has time to infuse the wine with sweet flavor.
    • Serve: Pour sangria into glasses with ice cubes. Top with sparkling water, club soda, lemon-lime soda, or ginger ale if desired for a little fizz. Garnish your glasses of sangria with fresh mint or edible flowers.

What is the Best White Wine for Sangria?

When shopping for a white wine for sangria, the best wine is a dry, slightly acidic white wine like pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc. Even though the fruit in sangria does add flavor, you want to pick a white wine that you enjoy drinking by the glass. It’s tempting to buy the cheapest wine for sangria but their bad flavor won’t be covered up by the fruit.

Sounds good. Dont have a comment but a question. I l'm not much of a drinker but love a new sweet white but i dont like coconut rum so is there anything else i can use in place of that?

You can use plain rum instead of coconut for a less strong coconut flavor, or try brandy or cognac.
