“My husband and I just returned from a wonderful Christmas vacation in San Antonio, Texas. While we were there, we ate and drank, then ate and drank some more! Upon our return home we looked and felt disgusting. It was at that moment we said, “Enough is enough! We have to change our lifestyle…and fast!” I began walking on the treadmill for a meager 20 minutes a day which seemed like a challenge at the time and was so boring. I dreaded it, so I needed something more.
My second turning point happened when I was talking with my sister about working out and she mentioned a work out video from Prevention that was upbeat and fun. How can a workout be fun? Then my sister acted out a basketball drill from the video and quoted the instructor saying, “Shoot the hoop and land it. Play a little defense.” It was so catchy; I made it my goal to buy the video the very next day. This is the pivotal point where Chris Freytag entered my life! Hello, 3-2-1 workout!
The 3-2-1 video was everything I needed and more. The cardio, weights, and abs altogether and it was being coached by an incredibly encouraging instructor who made me feel empowered, not frustrated, by the end of the workout. I soon found myself coming home from work and going directly to the basement to workout. Who was I becoming? I went from grumbling about having to work out for 30 minutes to making it my first priority of my evening. I quickly learned all the 3-2-1 moves and quoted Chris Freytag word for word. I started to feel good about myself and the weight was beginning to come off. After a few weeks, it dawned on me to research Chris and learn more about her and see if she had any more videos.
Turning point 3, the complete collection of Chris Freytag videos! Once I discovered there was more…I had to have them! All of them! The variety was amazing! I could now rotate between strength training, cardio, Pilates, abs, and target toning. I can switch my workouts on a daily basis to meet my needs and my mood. I can go a whole week without doing the same routine twice and that keeps me motivated.
Long gone are the days of the 20 minute depressing treadmill. Because of Chris Freytag’s radiating positive energy and constant encouragement, I have lost 25 lbs and have kept it off for over a year and a half. I am now working out 5 to 6 days a week for no less than an hour. I keep thinking that I am going to slide backwards into my old habits, but then I say a quote that I learned from Chris and her videos, “Because you can!” and I believe it and live by it. I choose to be healthy and I choose Chris Freytag as my mentor!”
