I weighed 119 when I got pregnant with my daughter back in 2003. I gained 52 pounds when I was pregnant with her, and struggled for a few years afterward to lose the weight. I finally reached about 126, but then I had to have foot surgery, and that put me off my foot for two months in a boot. About that time, at 39 years old, I decided to return to school. Life got very busy, and then I had to have a hysterectomy. Another six weeks down, and I gained more weight.
Fast forward to 2010, and I began to study for CPA exams. This led to a lot of late night studying which also led to a lot of late night eating, and it was bad food. One day I was reading my Facebook newsfeeds and saw that Chris Freytag was starting a 28 day 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme challenge. I had just finished five months of straight studying and testing, and I decided once and for all that I had enough of looking and feeling the way I did. I made the decision to join the challenge.
I was 43 when I started the workouts, and I will be 44 in two weeks. I was in a very tight size 12 (on the verge of having to buy size 14’s) and I am now in a size 8.
Not only did I lose weight, but I also lost inches. I lost three quarters of an inch on each arm, more than an inch on each thigh, a couple inches off my bra line and almost four inches off my waist and two inches off my hips.
My favorite workouts on the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme are the kickboxing and the total body workouts. My favorite part about her Xtreme challenge has to be the friendships I have made in the group that Chris started for us. It is such a wonderful group of people who have formed such a great support system.
I want to thank Chris for all of her inspiration and motivation. I really want to thank her for starting the challenge. I will be continuing on with Chris’s 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme well into the future.
