How To Poach Chicken For Chicken Salad

If you don’t have any leftover cooked chicken around, poaching chicken couldn’t be easier. Here’s how to poach chicken:

  1. Heat a large pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil.
  2. Add raw chicken breast and simmer for 5-8 minutes until chicken reaches 165 degrees.
  3. Remove to a cutting board and allow to rest 10 minutes. Cut into cubes and refrigerate until ready to use. OR shred it using this chicken shredder which has become my favorite kitchen tool.
