Healthy Water Infusions

By: Chris Freytag, CPT // August 4, 2022

Sometimes, drinking eight glasses of plain water daily can be challenging and, frankly, a little boring. Well, let us introduce you to our favorite hydration solution: Homemade Healthy Water Infusions! This nutrient-packed drink takes less than five minutes to put together and will have you happily refilling your glass all day.

Ask any health or fitness expert, and they’ll tell you that proper hydration is essential for good health. According to Harvard.edu, drinking enough water daily is important to regulate body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood.

Trust me, you’ll find healthy water infusions more energizing and refreshing than other sports drinks or fake flavored waters filled with food dye.

Oh yeah, these water infusions are really pretty too!

    1. Gather the ingredients from whichever fruit and herb flavor infusion you decide to make. Here are some of our go-to water infusion combinations:

    • Watermelon Rosemary
    • Blackberry Sage
    • Ginger-Pineapple-Orange
    • Mint-Cucumber-Lemon,
    • Tangerine-Fennel-Thyme
    • Raspberry-Lime-Mint

    2. Put the sliced fruit, herbs, and/or spices in the bottom of your glass jar or pitcher and lightly squish with a wooden spoon to release the fruit juices for flavor.

    3. Fill the jar with still or sparkling water. If you’d like a little extra sweetness after tasting, add a natural sweetener like honey or agave.

    4. Drink and enjoy it now or leave it in the fridge overnight to get the max taste!
