But now manufacturers are back to improving their supply chain and many of those retailers now offer home gym equipment online at Amazon.
The last few years has also taught us that exercising in our own homes is cheaper, more convenient, and actually fun. The good news is you don’t need much space.
You just need a few key pieces of equipment to allow you to move your body. That’s why I want to share with you the best home gym equipment on Amazon for the best price.

Best Home Gym Equipment On Amazon For Less
Let’s talk about how to set up your simple at-home workout area. I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 35 years working as a Certified Personal Trainer, and I’ve purchased and tested lots of at-home fitness equipment.
You don’t need a lot of space and you don’t need big trendy equipment. Thanks to Amazon, there are a variety of good options readily available online.
From dumbbells to stability balls, yoga mats and more, let’s up your fitness game in 2023.
Below is my list of the best home gym equipment on Amazon.
Note: you likely will not need everything on this list, so pick and choose according to your needs, interests, and space.

The first and most important piece of equipment is dumbbells for strength training. My favorite type of dumbbells for home is the vinyl-coated dumbbell.
The vinyl is non-slip for a better grip and protects your floors from damage. I like the well-marked numbers on the head of the dumbbells and the bright colors.
In addition, the hexagon shape of the head allows it to stay put on the floor and not roll. I have purchased several sets of these over the years. The Amazon Basics set of two is the best deal I’ve found.
2. Buxano Adjustable Dumbbells
If you like the idea of an adjustable dumbbell, this Flybird adjustable dumbbell goes up by 5 lb increments from 5 lbs to 25 lbs so it replaces five separate dumbbells which saves space and money.
Obviously for working out it will be better to buy two so you have a set.
The weights shift easily and smoothly offering quick changes in between sets. For the price, these are hard to beat.

3. Amazon Basic Vinyl Coated Kettlebells
Kettlebells are a great piece of fitness equipment that allow you to do strength and cardio at the same time and the classic kettlebell swing is one of my favorite total body exercises. It gets your heart rate up and burns up calories.
This kettlebell is vinyl coated so it’s safe on your floors and the textured, gently curved, wide handle helps ensure a comfortable, secure grip.
Kettlebells allow you to do different exercises than dumbbells because of the shape and the handle. I personally use the 15-pound and 20-pound for my workouts, but if you need lighter, check out these lighter kettlebells.

4. SPRI Resistance Band with Handles
Resistance bands maintain constant tension on the muscles throughout the entire movement and are a great tool for strength training. Resistance bands are versatile, compact and small enough to fit in your suitcase.
SPRI stands for quality and are made to last.
I’ve had mine for over a decade and they are still working for me. There are different colors to represent different difficulties. I use the green and red regularly.
Mini bands are also known as booty bands for a reason: they target those butt and leg muscles. When worn around your calves or thighs, you can do a variety of exercises that will leave your lower body feeling it.
I love these thicker fabric bands because they stay put on your legs, don’t roll and don’t hurt your skin if you are wearing shorts. Be wary of the rubber mini bands as they are not half as comfortable.

6. GAIAM Anti Burst Ball with Air Pump
A stability ball can be used to improve balance and this one is the ball I have at home. You want to pick a ball that is made of quality material so it doesn’t burst or get misshapen from the sun; I have been using this one for over a decade and it’s still working for me.
In addition to just sitting on it which can be challenging for the core, you can perform crunches on it or it can double as a workout bench.
It can also be used for pushups and planks. The size should be determined by your height.

7. Mini Pilates and Barre Sponge Ball
This mini ball is a big deal when it comes to Pilates and Barre workouts. It’s amazing all of the exercises you can do for your core, legs and back with this mini ball.
I’ve been teaching with it for years and love the variety it adds. It’s a great tool for at-home workouts like these barre classes on Get Healthy U TV.

If you’re using for a kickboxing/ cardio class I would recommend nothing over a 6-9 lb bar. Typically I use a 6 lb bar.

Who stepped with me back in the 90s? Well, I’m still stepping and loving it for a great cardio workout. However, this step platform is also amazing for doubling as a strength bench.
Using a step platform for exercises like pushups and planks makes it a little less stressful on the shoulders. The step can also be used to elevate your body off the ground when doing core work.
This is in the top three items I would start within your home gym because it is useful for both cardio and strength.

Rowing machines are a total body workout. When rowing you use all your muscle groups while increasing your heart rate.
It’s trend right to use a rowing machine because it’s a fast and effective quick burst of cardio exercise. This model has a digital monitor, eight levels of resistance and it’s foldable. It’s feature-rich for the price.

3. Sunny Health & Fitness Foldable Manual Treadmill
A list of the best exercise equipment wouldn’t be complete without a manual treadmill. It makes for another great cardio option and it’s not a big investment of thousands of dollars and a lot of space in your home.
It’s like a conveyor belt; it doesn’t have a motor or cord, you just move your feet, and the belt will move.
A manual treadmill makes walking at home easy when watching a show or talking on the phone or working on the computer.
Getting in your steps matters and this makes it easy if you can’t get outside.
4. REDLIRO Under Desk Treadmill 2 in 1 Portable Treadmill
This is my pick if you’re looking for a treadmill that can also handle running.
It’s a little more expensive but for a reason. If you plan to use it to power walk and/or run, I’d check this one out.

The Gorilla brand is well known for quality. I have this in my basement and love the way it stays put, is anti-slip, and wipes down easily.

2. 1/2 inch Extra Thick Exercise Yoga Mat
This mat is well-reviewed for a reason. For the price, you can’t beat it. And, what I personally love is that it is a little thicker so it feels good when I’m on my knees or back but not too thick to be distracting.
It’s textured which makes it less slippery, it comes with a strap, and is available in various colors.

A foam roller is synonymous with self-massage. It can help relieve muscle tightness and soreness, reduce inflammation, improve blood flow and increase your joint range of motion.
By applying pressure to your muscles, tendons and ligaments, foam rolling can be an effective tool to add to your warm-up or cooldown before and after exercise.
I use mine daily as a way to stay injury-free plus it “hurts so good.” This foam roller is firm for those of you who can tolerate a little more pressure and it’s the one I use daily.
It comes in several lengths. The most common length is 36″ and that’s what I have at home.
If you think you’d do better with a little less pressure then this medium-density foam roller is a great choice. It’s highly rated and does the same thing as the high-density foam roller with less intensity.
It is still very effective and a great tool to use daily.
5. Trigger Point Therapy Massage Ball
If you are looking for something to really target your low back or specific tight spots, check out this Trigger Point Massage Ball. The massage ball can be placed anywhere on your knotted or tight muscles and you roll it around till you find that trigger point.
You release your tight muscles by using the weight of your own body.
You can use it against a wall or on the floor. This one little product changed my life 10 years ago and I use it every day for about five to 10 minutes.

Yoga blocks and yoga straps are some of the best exercise equipment to have at home. They are an easy way to make stretches and yoga poses more attainable.
Yoga blocks can also help you with balance and yoga straps are a great tool if you plan to focus on your flexibility.

While these aren’t fitness equipment per say, they are useful for your at-home workouts. I put one NUUN tablet in my water to drink every workout and it gives me an energy boost while helping to hydrate.
NUUN tablets provide you with electrolytes: magnesium, sodium and potassium. Instead of expensive, sugary energy drinks with food coloring, I love these NUUN tablets.
They are less money per serving, have 1 gram of sugar and only 15 calories. For me – they are a game changer for my morning workouts.
